Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
– John 14:27
Some people smell crisp and clean. They would remind you of offices and cubicles. Some people smell dusty and old. They would remind you of store rooms and wardrobes. There are many who reek of coffee. Thick, thin, wafty aromas of bittersweetness and sleepless nights. Then there are those who stink of smoke, drink, drugs and sex. Others smell of oil and sweat, of slick and slime.
There are those rare few that smell like fresh grass, desert sand and crashing waves. Rarer are those who smell of shadows and angels, of magic and mystery.
But the rarest of all are those that smell like home. It’s the smell of slept in sheets, tousled hair, and early mornings. It’s the smell of peace.
